Science and Technology Directorate

The Science and Technology Directorate provides technical expertise and guidance for the development and implementation of policies, plans, programmes and projects relating to science and technology.

The Directorate promotes the development and application of science and technology to support Ghana’s socio-economic development.

Key Areas of Work

Research, Development and Innovation

Supports the development of technology-based industries, strategic roadmaps for priority sectors and policies that promote research, development and intellectual property protection.

International Cooperation and Resources

Facilitates bilateral and multilateral cooperation and supports the mobilisation of resources for science and technology programmes.

Human Capital and Knowledge Systems

Supports programmes for scientific knowledge creation, human capital development, research infrastructure, emerging areas of research and the preservation and application of indigenous knowledge systems.
