Research, Statistics and Information Management Directorate
Responsible for the design, use, maintenance and development of research, statistics and information systems to support Ministry-wide planning, decision-making and service delivery.
The Research, Statistics and Information Management Directorate is responsible for the design, use, maintenance and development of research and statistics as inputs into a central information base for Ministry-wide use.
It coordinates information gathering, processing and dissemination for the Ministry, its organisations and stakeholders.
Key Units
Research and Statistics Unit
Conducts research and obtains information and data to support decision-making and achievement of sector objectives. The Unit also maintains records of relevant conventions and treaties and supports access to archival information on sector policies, plans and achievements.
ICT and Data Management Unit
Manages electronic documentation and supports the collection and organisation of data for effective implementation of the Ministry’s mandate.
The Unit also maintains the Ministry’s information technology network and infrastructure and supports the development and integration of digital technologies into Ministry operations.
