Policy, Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate

The Policy, Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate leads the technical processes for the development of policies, plans, programmes, projects and budgets for the Ministry.

It also designs and applies monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the operational effectiveness of the Ministry’s strategies, programmes and interventions.

Key Units

Policy Coordination Unit

Coordinates the development and review of sector policies, programmes and projects for the Ministry.

Planning and Budgeting Unit

Leads the preparation of Ministry plans and coordinates the sector budget. The Unit also provides technical guidance to management on planning and budgetary matters.

Monitoring and Evaluation Unit

Provides systems for monitoring programmes and projects and assessing their effectiveness against established objectives and targets.

Public Investment Unit

Provides a standard framework for the preparation, appraisal, selection, budgeting, implementation and reporting of public investment projects.
