Civil Service Council Visits MEST

Civil Service Council

Members of the Civil Service Council, led by Dr. Lawrence Kannae (Chairman), paid an official working visit to the Ministry on 22nd April 2026. The visit formed part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration across the Civil Service and to enhance its understanding of the operations of key government institutions.

During the visit, the delegation engaged with the Ministry’s leadership and staff to gain deeper insight into ongoing programmes, policy implementation processes, and the overall operational framework of the Ministry. This allowed the Council to better appreciate the Ministry’s strategic priorities, achievements, and existing challenges.

The engagement also created an opportunity for direct interaction with staff at various levels, enabling open discussions on issues affecting service delivery, including resource constraints, workflow efficiency, and institutional coordination. Staff were encouraged to share their experiences and propose practical solutions to improve performance and productivity.

In addition, the discussions focused on institutional development, with emphasis on strengthening capacity, improving accountability mechanisms, and promoting a results-driven culture within the Civil Service. The Council reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Ministry in addressing identified gaps and enhancing the effectiveness and responsiveness of public service delivery.
