Policy, Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (PPME) Directorate
The Directorate is responsible for leading the technical processes involved in developing policies, plans, programs, projects, and budgets for all activities of the Ministry. It plays a critical role in designing and applying monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the operational effectiveness of the Ministry’s strategies and interventions. The Directorate is composed of three key units that each have specialized functions: The Policy Coordination Unit, which initiates and coordinates the development and review of broad sector policies, programs, and projects; the Planning and Budgeting Unit, which leads in designing and providing plans within a sound framework for the effective implementation of the Ministry’s planned programs, projects, and activities, while also coordinating the preparation of the sector’s budget and offering technical guidance on budgetary matters; and the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, which ensures that there is an effective basis for measuring the progress of the Ministry’s programs and projects, providing an objective basis for assessing their effectiveness. Through these units, the Directorate ensures that the Ministry’s strategies are both well-planned and thoroughly evaluated for success.
