Webinar Spotlight: CSIR Rice Research for Sustainable Development
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology & Innovation (MESTI) are proud to present the latest installment of the “Visibility” webinar series. This upcoming session will focus on CSIR’s cutting-edge research aimed at boosting Ghana’s rice production capabilities to drive sustainable development and economic growth through greater food self-sufficiency.
On Thursday, April 25th at 10 AM prompt, tune in to hear from Dr. Maxwell Darko Asante, Principal Research Scientist and Rice Breeder at CSIR’s Crops Research Institute. Dr. Asante will discuss CSIR’s rice breeding programs dedicated to developing high-yielding, resilient varieties suited to Ghana’s climate and environments.
This vital agricultural research has the potential to significantly increase domestic rice output, reducing the nation’s reliance on costly imports.
