Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons Honors Dr. Kwaku Afriyie and Former President John Agyekum Kufour at a Maiden Awards Night in Accra, Ghana.
The Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons proudly conferred the Policy Makers Award upon Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso and Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, during its inaugural College Awards Night. The event, held at the Annual General and Scientific Meetings, featured the esteemed presence of the Republic’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as the special guest of honor.
Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, alongside Hon Dr. Richard Winfred Anane, Hon Yaw Barimah, and Hon Dr. Eunice Brookman-Amissah, was recognized for their pivotal roles in formulating and implementing policies that laid the foundation for postgraduate training in Ghana. This recognition stems from their collective efforts in establishing the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2003.
Moreover, the College bestowed the Distinguished Personality Award upon HE John Agyekum Kufour, former President of the Republic of Ghana, in acknowledgment of his unwavering commitment to advancing the vision of postgraduate training in the country.
