Honorable Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, held a productive meeting with a delegation from SUCCA Africa, led by Ing. Prince Osisiadan, Founder and President. The team, including Adwoa Osborne, Head of Partnership, and Isaac Adjei, International Relations, paid a courtesy call to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at organizing climate summits in Ghana.
During the meeting, SUCCA Africa expressed their intent to partner with the Ministry to host climate summits in Ghana, focusing on the crucial intersections of technology and finance in climate solutions. The delegation informed the Minister about their official application for inclusion on the list of experts in the carbon trade market with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Minister Afriyie welcomed the initiative of the SUCCA Africa team and encouraged them to submit a detailed proposal outlining their climate change agenda. He emphasized the Ministry’s direct responsibility for such matters and requested a comprehensive plan to facilitate further discussions.
Dr. Peter J. Dery, Director of Environment at the Ministry was also present during the meeting.
The Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology & Innovation looks forward to reviewing the proposal and exploring potential collaborations to address climate change challenges in Ghana.
