MESTI Gets New Chief Director
Mrs. Cynthia Asare Bediako has assumed office as Chief Director of the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI). She joined MESTI on 9th March 2020 from the Office of Vice President, where she had served as the Chief Director since March 2017.
Prior to her posting to the Office of the Vice President, she was the Chief Director at Office of the Head of Civil Service having been appointed in July 2014.
She is a Career Civil Servant in the administrative class with over 30 years of administration experience having served in various ministries. She holds a Masters degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) from the University of Ghana, Legon; another Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), the Hague and BA (Soc Sci) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
At a durbar to introduce her to the staff of MESTI, the Minister, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, said Madam Asare Bediako has the experience needed to guide the Ministry to implement its policies and programs.
He urged staff to endeavor to develop themselves in order to enhance their career and contribute positively to the progress of the sector and the nation.
On her part, Madam Asare Bediako expressed her readiness to work with Management and staff to enable MESTI to make an impact on the socio-economic development of the country.
“None of us is as strong as all of us, which means as individuals we can do so little, but as a team, we can do a lot”, she emphasized.
She urged staff to eschew behaviors that will affect productivity at the workplace, cautioning that tendencies such as lateness and loitering will not be countenanced under her watch.
