Research, Statistics, and Information Management
The Directorate is responsible for the design, use, maintenance and development of research and statistics as input into a central database for service-wide use. It coordinates all activities relating to information gathering, processing and dissemination for all the Ministry’s organizations and stakeholders.
The Directorate comprises the following units:
The Unit conducts research and seeks for information and data to aid decision-making relevant to the achievement of sectoral objectives and goals. It also maintains records of Conventions and Treaties of the sector, and serves as library and source of archival information on sectoral policies, plans and achievements.
The ICT Unit is responsible for the management of electronic documentation and for collating required data to create a database for effective operationalization of the Ministry’s mandate. It maintains information technology network and infrastructure for the Ministry and also develops, supports and integrates new technologies into the operations of the Ministry.
