Ghana Marks UN World Environment Day
‘World Environment Day’ is a day set aside by the United Nations to be celebrated annually on 5th June. It is the United Nations’ most important day for encouraging, worldwide awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
The theme for World Environment Day 2020 is, ‘Time for Nature,’ with a focus on its role in providing the essential infrastructure that supports life on Earth and human development.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ghana is marking this day with a message on the theme, delivered by Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Ghana.
