KfW Development Bank Delegation Paid Courtesy Call on Hon. Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology

A high-level delegation from KfW Development Bank paid a courtesy call on the Honorable Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology (MEST), Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed (MP), on Monday 5th March 2025, at his office in Accra.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the longstanding partnership between the Government of Ghana and KfW Development Bank, focusing on key areas such as E-Waste management, environmental sustainability, scientific research, and technological innovations. Both parties emphasized the importance of advancing Ghana’s environmental goals, ensuring sustainable development, and driving technological progress to meet global challenges.

During the discussions, the Hon. Minister expressed the government’s commitment to advancing environmental policies and innovations that promote a greener, more sustainable future. He also acknowledged KfW Development Bank’s continuous support in the areas of scientific and technological advancements, which are essential to achieving the country’s development objectives.

Present at the meeting were Arndt Weirheim, Country Director of KfW Development Bank, Samuel Nyamekye, Senior Portfolio Coordinator, along with Directors from the Ministry and other staff members.

The meeting marked an important step in deepening the strategic cooperation between the two institutions, with a shared vision for a more sustainable and technologically advanced Ghana.
