The Revised National Plastics Management Policy provides a national framework for improving the management of plastics across their lifecycle and value chain.
The Policy supports Ghana’s transition towards a more circular plastics economy through improved environmental management, resource recovery, recycling, innovation and responsible production and consumption.
It forms part of the Ministry’s broader environmental policy portfolio and provides a framework for addressing the environmental and socioeconomic challenges associated with plastic waste.
Policy objectives
The Policy promotes coordinated action among Government, industry, communities and other stakeholders to improve plastics management and reduce pollution.
It also supports opportunities for innovation, recycling, value recovery and green economic development.
