Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah Inaugurates Governing Board of the National Regulatory Authority

The Hon. Minister for Energy and Caretaker Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology , Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, on Friday, October 3, 2025, officially inaugurated the 7-Member Governing Board of the National Regulatory Authority (NRA) at a ceremony held in Accra.

In his remarks, Hon. Buah highlighted the critical role of the NRA in ensuring effective regulation within its mandate. He commended the members for their professional expertise and urged them to bring their wealth of knowledge, experience, and commitment to advancing national development.

The Minister further emphasized the importance of integrity, accountability, and teamwork in the discharge of their duties, calling on the Board to uphold the highest standards of governance while executing their regulatory responsibilities. He stressed that the NRA’s work would contribute significantly to national growth, safety, and compliance across sectors under its oversight.

Hon. Buah also encouraged the Board to collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, industry players, research institutions, and civil society, to ensure that the Authority’s regulatory activities were transparent, efficient, and impactful.

The newly inaugurated Board was composed of members drawn from diverse professional backgrounds, ensuring a broad range of expertise and perspectives to strengthen the Authority’s effectiveness and credibility.

The Chairperson of the Board expressed appreciation to the Minister for the confidence reposed in them and assured that the Board would work diligently to fulfill its mandate, maintain public trust, and promote national development through effective regulation.

The Chief Executive Officer of the NRA conveyed his gratitude and pledged to support the Board in achieving its strategic objectives and upholding the principles of good governance, compliance, and public service excellence.
