GAEC Delegation Paid Courtesy Visit to MEST Minister to Discuss Climate and Innovation Projects

A delegation from the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) paid a courtesy visit to the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed (MP), to brief him on the ongoing GAEC–ACCCRI projects.

During the meeting, the delegation shared progress updates and outlined key focus areas of the collaborative initiative. They highlighted the significance of the African Centre for Climate Change and Renewable Energy Innovation (ACCCRI) in promoting research and innovation aimed at addressing climate change, enhancing energy access, and building climate resilience across Ghana and the wider sub-region.

The team also discussed how the projects were contributing to national development objectives by integrating scientific knowledge with practical solutions in renewable energy, climate adaptation, and sustainable resource management.

Hon. Dr. Murtala Muhammed commended GAEC for its commitment to science, research, and innovation. He emphasized the critical role that institutions like GAEC play in developing evidence-based approaches to tackling environmental and climate-related challenges.

The Minister requested the submission of a detailed proposal to guide further collaboration between the Ministry and GAEC, and to ensure alignment with national priorities and policy frameworks.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening the partnership between MEST and GAEC in advancing sustainable development through science, technology, and innovation.
