Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) Engages MEST Minister on Strategic Collaboration for Sustainable Development

On Monday, 12th May 2025, the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed (MP), receives a delegation from the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) at the Ministry’s offices in Accra.

The meeting serves as a platform to strengthen the partnership between the Ministry and the industrial sector. Discussions focus on enhancing collaboration in key areas of mutual interest, including waste management, environmental protection, research and development, and the upcoming National Science and Technology Fair.

Hon. Dr. Murtala Muhammed highlights the vital role of the private sector, particularly industry, in advancing the Ministry’s mandate to foster innovation, promote sustainable practices, and address pressing environmental challenges. He notes that the Ministry is committed to forging meaningful alliances that bridge the gap between science, policy, and industry to drive impactful change.

The AGI delegation expresses strong interest in working with the Ministry to explore innovative and environmentally sustainable solutions that support Ghana’s development agenda. They reaffirm AGI’s commitment to initiatives that promote cleaner production, efficient waste management systems, and the integration of science and technology in industrial operations.

A key highlight of the meeting is the discussion around the upcoming National Science and Technology Fair. The event aims to showcase homegrown innovations, inspire the youth, and provide a platform for knowledge exchange between academia, industry, and policymakers. AGI pledges support for the fair and expresses interest in contributing through sponsorship, exhibitions, and mentorship opportunities.
