Stakeholder Engagement on National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan Held at Coconut Grove Regency Hotel
Accra, 25th July, 2024 – The Environment Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI) hosted a pivotal stakeholder engagement session today at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel. This gathering brought together key ministries and agencies to contribute valuable insights into the review process of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) 2016.
The session aimed to solicit input from stakeholders to refine the National Targets and identify actionable activities necessary for achieving these targets. This review is part of the ongoing rapid assessment of the 2016 NBSAP to ensure its alignment with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
Participants engaged in dynamic discussions to evaluate current strategies, propose new initiatives, and enhance collaborative efforts to strengthen biodiversity conservation. The feedback collected will be instrumental in shaping a robust, updated framework that addresses global biodiversity challenges and aligns with international commitments.
The Environment Directorate appreciates the active participation of all attendees and looks forward to incorporating their insights into the revised NBSAP. This collaborative approach underscores Ghana’s dedication to enhancing biodiversity conservation and sustainability on a global scale.
Together, we are shaping the future of biodiversity conservation in Ghana.
