MESTI and EPA Celebrated World Environment Day 2024

   The Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) celebrated World Environment Day 2024 with a special event titled “What Do You Know?”. This educational initiative aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and encouraged students to deepen their knowledge.

Participating Schools:

• Accra Academy School (1st Place)
• St. Mary’s Senior High School (2nd Place)
• West Africa Senior High School (3rd Place)

The event took place on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 10:00 am. Students from the participating schools gathered to learn about various environmental topics and engage in activities promoting sustainability.

Through interactive sessions, presentations, and discussions, the organizers sought to inspire the youth to become active stewards of the environment. The event highlighted the importance of preserving our planet’s resources and taking collective action to combat environmental challenges.

Accra Academy School emerged as the winner, followed by St. Mary’s Senior High School in second place and West Africa Senior High School in third place.

MESTI and EPA expressed their gratitude to all the participants, faculty members, and partners who made this World Environment Day celebration a success. They reiterated their commitment to raising environmental awareness and fostering a more sustainable future for generations to come.
