MEST Partners with the Ministry of Trade and Agribusiness to Host Three-Day Roundtable Discussion on Technology and Innovation
MEST, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Agribusiness, organized a Three-Day Roundtable Discussion on Technology and Innovation. The event, which began on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, in Accra, fostered meaningful dialogue on leveraging technology and innovation to boost the agribusiness sector.
The discussions focused on harnessing lessons from the Africa Agrifood and Knowledge Transfer Partnership to better align Science and Technology Policy with Trade and Industry Policy. This alignment is crucial for enhancing the growth and competitiveness of the agribusiness sector, especially in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The programme formed part of the broader Ghana Jobs and Skills Project, managed by the Ministry of Finance. This initiative aimed to create employment opportunities and improve skills development within key sectors, including agriculture, technology, and industry.
Participants included government officials, industry leaders, academics, and experts in technology and innovation, who worked together to explore how science and technology could drive policy improvements and practical solutions for the agrifood sector.
The event is expected to contribute to the creation of actionable strategies and frameworks that will support sustainable growth, knowledge transfer, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies in Ghana’s agribusiness and trade sectors.
