Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed Assumed Office as Minister for MEST

On Monday, 10th February 2025, the Ministry of Environment, Science, and Technology (MEST) officially welcomed Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed (MP) as the new Minister. His assumption of office marked an important milestone for the Ministry as it continued its mandate of advancing environmental sustainability, scientific innovation, and technological development in the country.

The Chief Director of MEST, Dr. Patrick Nomo, along with the leadership team, took the opportunity to brief the Hon. Minister on the Ministry’s vision and ongoing initiatives. During a comprehensive onboarding session, each of the Ministry’s Directors presented detailed reports on their respective mandates, key projects, and the planned activities for 2025. This presentation highlighted the collaborative efforts and the various goals set for the year, ensuring that the Ministry stayed on course to meet its strategic objectives.

In his address, the Hon. Minister expressed his commitment to building on the successes of his predecessors and prioritizing the integration of innovative science and technology solutions to address environmental challenges. He reiterated the importance of fostering sustainable development while ensuring that the Ministry continued to serve as a catalyst for scientific advancement and technological innovation in Ghana.

The onboarding session marked a significant step toward ensuring that the Ministry operated effectively and efficiently as the Hon. Minister began his work at the helm of MEST.
