FARA Paid Courtesy Call on Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation

On Monday, 12th May 2025, the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed (MP).

The visit formed part of FARA’s stakeholder engagement efforts aimed at strengthening partnerships to support agricultural research, innovation, and sustainable development across the African continent. The delegation, led by senior executives, briefed the Minister on upcoming programmes and initiatives designed to enhance research capacity, promote climate-smart agriculture, and accelerate the commercialization of agricultural innovations.

Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed expressed his appreciation for the visit and commended FARA for its contributions to advancing agricultural science and technology in Africa. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting science-led development and indicated readiness to collaborate with FARA on integrating scientific research into national policies and practices.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about future collaboration and a shared commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural transformation.
