Director-General of CSIR Pays Courtesy Call on Hon. MESTI Minister
Accra, Tuesday, 25th June 2024 – Professor Paul Bosu, the Director-General of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), today made his inaugural visit to the Honorable Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI) in Accra. The meeting marked an important milestone since the Honorable Minister assumed office, fostering dialogue on key initiatives and upcoming engagements within the scientific community.
Central to the discussions was the Honorable Minister’s ongoing Familiarization Visit to the 13 distinguished CSIR institutions across the country. This initiative aims to strengthen collaboration and assess the impactful research and innovation endeavors undertaken by CSIR towards national development goals.
Additionally, both parties deliberated on the forthcoming African Scientific Renaissance Day Celebrations, which will prominently feature a three-day exhibition showcasing a diverse array of CSIR products. This event underscores CSIR’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and promoting indigenous technological innovations on a continental scale.
Accompanying Professor Bosu were Mr. Cephas Adjei Mensah, Director of the Research and Development Institute of CSIR, and Mr. Decker, Administrator at CSIR, reflecting the collaborative spirit and multidisciplinary approach that characterizes CSIR’s endeavors under Professor Bosu’s leadership.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to furthering partnerships between CSIR and MESTI, leveraging science, technology, and innovation as drivers of sustainable development and economic growth in Ghana.
