Courtesy Call on Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister of MEST, by the Norwegian Embassy Team
On Friday, 14th February 2025, Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MEST), received a courtesy call from a distinguished team from the Norwegian Embassy in Ghana, led by Ambassador Ingrid Mollestad.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Norwegian Embassy to congratulate the Minister on his appointment and to express their continued support for the Government of Ghana’s initiatives. The delegation also aimed to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral relations between Ghana and Norway, with a special focus on advancing cooperation in key areas such as:
- Environmental Sustainability: Promoting joint efforts in environmental protection, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development practices.
- Technological Innovation: Exploring opportunities to leverage Norway’s expertise in technology and innovation to support Ghana’s development in the tech sector.
- Scientific Research: Discussing potential partnerships in scientific research, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, agriculture, and biotechnology.
The discussions emphasized the shared commitment to achieving sustainable development goals, highlighting the importance of global partnerships in addressing pressing challenges such as climate change, resource management, and innovation-driven growth.
Both parties expressed optimism about the potential for deepening collaboration between Ghana and Norway and reaffirmed their commitment to building a stronger, more sustainable future through innovation, research, and sustainable practices.
