Chief Director’s Hand-Over Ceremony Held at MESTI
On Wednesday, 23rd April 2025, the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) held a formal ceremony to commemorate the hand-over of duties from the outgoing Chief Director, Dr. Patrick Nomo, to the incoming Chief Director, Madam Suweibatu Adam. The event, which took place at the Ministry’s conference room, was witnessed by the Hon. Minister, alongside members of the Ministry’s Management and Staff.
The ceremony marked a significant moment of transition and continuity in the Ministry’s leadership. Dr. Nomo, who served with diligence and distinction, was reassigned to the Ministry of Finance. In his farewell address, he expressed sincere gratitude to the Hon. Minister, Management, and Staff for their support during his tenure. He highlighted key milestones achieved under his leadership and pledged his continued support to the Ministry whenever the need arose.
Madam Suweibatu Adam, who previously served as the Chief Director at the Ministry of Justice and the Attorney General’s Department, assumed her new role at MESTI with a wealth of experience in public administration. In her remarks, she thanked the Ministry’s leadership for the warm welcome and reaffirmed her commitment to upholding the values and vision of MESTI. She called for unity, teamwork, and innovation, and encouraged staff to collaborate in delivering on the Ministry’s mandate.
The Hon. Minister expressed appreciation to Dr. Nomo for his dedicated service and significant contributions to the Ministry’s progress. He wished him success in his new role at the Ministry of Finance. He also welcomed Madam Suweibatu and assured her of his full support as she assumed her new responsibilities.
The ceremony concluded with the official signing of the hand-over notes, symbolizing a smooth and seamless transition of leadership at the Ministry.
