Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. TONG Defa, Meets with Hon. Minister of MESTI

Accra, Tuesday, 20th August 2024 – The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency TONG Defa, paid a courtesy call on the Honorable Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI), Ophelia Mensah-Hayford (MP).

The purpose of the meeting was to extend an official invitation to the Honorable Minister for the upcoming All-African Leaders Summit in China. The summit, which will focus on Environmental Protection, Science, Technology, and Innovation, is expected to foster collaboration and shared strategies among African nations and China in these critical areas.

During the meeting, H.E. TONG Defa made a formal presentation to the Honorable Minister, outlining the objectives of the summit and the key topics that will be discussed.

Also in attendance were the Chief Director, Dr. Patrick Nomo, Director of Research, Statistics, and Information Management (RSIM), Cephas Adjei Mensah, and Director of Policy, Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PPBME), Lydia Essuah.
