3-Day Training Workshop for MEST Staff and Agencies Held in Accra

A three-day training workshop for staff of the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MEST)and its agencies took place in Accra from Tuesday, April 2, 2025.
The workshop was organized by the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA) in collaboration with the Technical Agency (CTA) under the Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI).
The training aimed to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, promote best practices, and strengthen institutional capacity within MEST and its affiliated agencies. Participants engaged in interactive sessions aimed at enhancing research and innovation management competencies, fostering collaboration, and improving policy implementation.
The workshop was officially opened that morning by the Director of Research, Statistics, and Information Management (RSIM), Mr. Cephas Adjei Mensah. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and the need to equip institutions with the right tools to drive scientific research, innovation, and technology advancements in Ghana.
The training brought together key stakeholders, researchers, and policymakers from MEST and its agencies, providing them with a unique opportunity to share insights, build networks, and develop strategic approaches for effective research and innovation management.
